This Main Belt asteroid was discovered in Nov 16th 1852 by J.R. Hind. It has one known small moon called Linus
Kalliope is somewhat elongated, approximately 166 km in diameter, that shape produces the variation in the lightcurve as it rotates in is voyage around is 4.7y orbit.
